Room with a view toward better care

Healthcare centers are seeking to prove that a room's layout and accessories can help healing and cut down on mishaps, and a room at Princeton's hospital will test the theory, the Wall Street Journal reports. Designed using research funded with a $2.8 million grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the room has ushered Princeton into the growing field of healthcare design. Hospital officials say they'll know if features in the model room have improved care in roughly 18 months, when researchers compare data with what they collect from the existing rooms, the control group.
