Suburban Hospital officials: Let us compete with MedStar Georgetown for transplant business

Officials at Johns Hopkins-owned Suburban Hospital say there are too few liver transplants available in the Washington region and they want to get into the business. In a recently submitted application seeking approval from Maryland regulators, Suburban officials said MedStar Georgetown University Hospital the only liver transplant program in the donation service area that includes the District and both Montgomery and Prince George's counties is falling short.
