HHS Launches Heart Disease Prevention Campaign

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services plans to expand the role of the Physician Quality Reporting System, which provides bonus payment incentives – and in the future, payment reductions – based on the reporting of quality information related to new heart disease prevention goals for blood pressure and cholesterol control as well as smoking cessation.
