Opinion: FL Governor supports rush to judgment at Broward Health

Malfeasance is a harsh word, so when a governor uses it to suspend someone someone from the Board of Commissioners of the North Broward Hospital Districfrom public office, it leads you to believe they've done something terribly wrong, perhaps something evil, unquestionably something illegal. Gov. Scott owes this community a better explanation for why he suddenly suspended board Chairman David Di Pietro and Audit Committee Chairman Darryl Wright in the face of an escalating crisis that threatens the system's survival. Because from where we sit, these two commissioners were the leaders in addressing staff and public concerns, in showing a bias for transparency resisted by others, and in demonstrating the leadership we expect from public servants.
