The Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement (NRHI) and the Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative (SHIEC) announced today a formal affiliation between the two organizations to form a new organization named Civitas Networks for Health. The new organization will serve as a platform for local nonprofit health collaboratives and health information exchanges to grow and thrive.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, Memorial Health System experienced an information technology security incident. "IT noticed irregularities in the data system," said Memorial Health System President and CEO Scott Cantley at a press conference. "Security protocols call for the shut down of our Information Technology system." Memorial Health System is working with security partners, including the FBI and Homeland Security, to restore information operations as quickly as possible, he said.

Eskenazi Health remains on diversion for patients coming by ambulance nearly a week after an attempted ransomware attack that led the hospital to shut down its entire computer network. While the hospital is accepting patients who come on their own to the emergency department and delivering babies, ambulances are still being asked to go elsewhere, hospital spokesman Todd Harper said.
Telemedicine companies seeking to advertise on Facebook’s social media platforms will first need special approval and certification before running advertisements. In a recently-announced policy, Facebook introduced additional pre-approval requirements for telemedicine providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and online pharmacies looking to promote prescription drugs on social media. The new policy is effective August 25, 2021.
Cerner Corporation reported second-quarter 2021 adjusted earnings of 80 cents per share, which beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 76 cents by 5.3%. The bottom line improved 26.9% from the prior-year quarter.
