Hospitals, blood banks take precautions to prevent spread of Zika

As Florida girds itself for what health officials say is almost a sure thing — because the same kinds of mosquitos that carry the virus and bite people are here in Florida — hospitals, clinics and blood donation operations are beginning to screen patients, asking if they have been exposed or if they have been in places where the Zika virus is known to exist.
