Additional testing has confirmed the presence of bacteria that causes Legionnaires' disease at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Testing by the state Health Department found Legionella bacteria in two patient sinks and one ice machine, the hospital announced. The testing was conducted after three patients were recently diagnosed with Legionnaires', a severe form of pneumonia. Two of the patients caught the disease in the hospital. Hospital officials are unsure if the other patient, who died, got the disease in the hospital or the community. The hospital said there have been no new cases of hospital acquired Legionnaires' disease in the last three weeks.
