A Consumer Reports study says that Floyd Memorial Hospital & Health Services ranks as one of the poorest hospitals in the U.S. for avoiding infecting patients with MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and C. difficile (Clostridium difficile). But hospital officials said Friday that part of the reason for Floyd Memorial's low score is because the medical facility has more thorough testing than other centers, the News and Tribune reports. Floyd Memorial was studied between July 2013 and June 2014, but officials from the hospital say Consumer Reports failed to consider the fact that a second, more specific test for C. difficile was being implemented at the time the data was being collected.
