President Obama on Thursday officially launched a cancer-fighting task force that he said will double the rate of progress in the nation's fight against the disease. The highly anticipated efforts, spearheaded by Vice President Biden, will be called the White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force – a reference to Biden's speech in the Rose Garden last year calling for a "moonshot" to cure the disease that led to his son's death. Biden's task force will be stacked with senior administration officials, including five Cabinet secretaries, as well as top economic advisers and leaders of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Food and Drug Administration.
