MDs may be more interested in DIY health services than patients are

Coopers' Health Research Institute (HRI) published a report on top trends for the health industry in 2015, which was based on findings from a survey of 1,000 consumers in the US and additional interviews with healthcare executives. "With consumers leading the way, bearing more costs and making more decisions, change is erupting throughout the health industry," Kelly Barnes, PwC's US health industries leader said in a statement. "Established healthcare companies and new entrants are rapidly developing cost-efficient products and services tailored directly to consumers." The survey found that 68 percent of consumers said they were concerned about the security of their smartphone health app data, while 78 percent were concerned about medical data security.
