St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center is joining one of the nation's largest health care systems to improve its financial stability and patient care, according to Kathryn Ruscitto, the hospital's president and CEO. St. Joe's began exploring this option more than five years ago when it noticed hospitals that were successful at improving quality and reducing costs were part of larger systems, she said. "It became clear to us that was the strategy that best fit our future," Ruscitto said. St. Joe's announced today it will become a member of Trinity Health, a Livonia, Mich. based Catholic health care system that operates 85 hospitals, 130 long term care facilities and other programs in 21 states.
