Tennessee-based Community Health Systems, Inc. has completed the sale of select ambulatory outreach laboratory services to Labcorp for approximately $194 million in cash. This transaction represents a significant move for the healthcare provider, which currently has a market capitalization of $480.5 million and appears undervalued according to InvestingPro analysis. The deal, which spans 13 states, includes certain patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy locations previously operated by CHS-affiliated health systems. CHS will continue to operate its inpatient and emergency department laboratories, as well as provide laboratory services for hospital-based services such as imaging and pre-admission testing.
