According to the Pennsylvania Department of State, applications for RN licenses by examination are processed within seven weeks on average.
However, Deb Cardenas, president of the Pennsylvania State Nurse Association's board of directors and a nurse herself, said they have heard from many nurses who waited eight to 12 weeks for the process to complete.
