Nurses and doctors would get unused visas under Sinema-supported bill

Unused, employment-based visas from previous years would go to foreign nurses and doctors who wish to immigrate and work in the United States under a bill that aims to temporarily solve the U.S. medical personnel shortage. 

The bill, introduced in March 2021 by Sens. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and John Cornyn, R-Texas, and co-sponsored by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., specifies that 25,000 unused immigrant visas would be exclusively reserved for nurses, while 15,000 will be reserved for doctors and physicians.
