9 things Americans need to learn from the rest of the world's healthcare systems

Everywhere I went last fall, I would often hear the same twang of pity when I told someone I’d come to their country from America to learn how their health care works. There were three moments I will always remember, one from each of my trips to Taiwan, Australia, and the Netherlands. In Taiwan, I met a man named Wong Shin-Fa, of the Taroko people, an indigenous tribe living in the mountains on the island’s east coast.
