AUGUSTA, GA: Georgia Health Sciences University hires CIO

Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU) in Augusta, GA, has hired Charles Enicks as chief information officer. Enicks will assume his new duties at GHSU on May 1, 2012. Prior to joining GHSU, Enicks was CIO at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he led the IT function for five related schools, five hospitals and a 550-physician multispecialty practice. He also has served as CIO at numerous other academically affiliated healthcare organizations, including Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in PA, University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System in AL, and Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA. Enicks earned a master of engineering in biomedical engineering at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and a bachelor of science in chemical engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg.
