For over a year, Barnabas Health has touted a 24/7 emergency department as a main feature of its medical facility planned for Broadway and 24th Street. But citing state rules, competitor CarePoint Health, which owns the Bayonne Medical Center just five blocks away, is saying such an ER should not be allowed to open.
