Canadian doctors back right to die consultation; but MDs oppose assisted suicide

Polls indicate a high percentage of residents in Quebec, Canada, favor euthanasia, including doctors. But Gaetan Barrette, president of the federation of Quebec medical specialists, and Yves Lamontagne of the Quebec College of Physicians told a National Assembly committee that doctors do not want to perform assisted suicides.
