Allen Parish Hospital has reopened its emergency room about a year after its operations ceased. The hospital reopened a four-room emergency department last month and has already seen about 150 people in its first two weeks, according to CEO Dan Kannady. Revenue losses and a lack of patients forced the hospital to cut emergency care in March 2013. Shortly before the closure, hospital officials said the facility was losing more than $200,000 a month.
