A judge has ordered the University of Louisville to produce for a private inspection some records related to the proposed hospital merger. Jefferson Circuit Judge Irv Maze ruled that U of L must bring records sought by County Attorney Mike O'Connell to his court by 4 p.m. Monday. O'Connell went to court last week after U of L turned down his request for them under the Kentucky Open Records Act. U of L did give O'Connell about 140 pages of documents. But the university withheld numerous records, including emails among faculty and administrators that U of L said were exempt from the open-records law because they were "preliminary" recommendations, covered by attorney-client privilege, or on other grounds.
