The CEO of the North Country Hospital in Newport, Vermont has resigned following a no-confidence vote by medical staff and a growing number of vacancies. CEO Brian Nall made the announcement Monday he is officially resigning. Former medical staff told WCAX that management decisions had created an unsafe work environment and pushed many people to leave their positions. As of last Friday, there were 100 open positions listed on the hospital's website.
The leader of an Ashland, Oregon, hospital has been hired to run the Community Memorial Health System that includes hospitals in Ventura and Ojai. The system's Board of Trustees said Monday they've hired Mick Zdeblick to succeed Gary Wilde, who has served as CEO and president of the system since 2004.

MultiCare Health System will acquire Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital under an agreement signed Friday. Memorial will become a wholly owned subsidiary of MultiCare in early 2023, when its name will change to MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital. Under the agreement, MultiCare will invest in new programs, implement an integrated electronic health record, strengthen the hospital's role as a regional health care hub and "help provide a sustainable future for Yakima's only hospital," a news release said.
