Yale New Haven Health System's plan to buy three new hospitals in Waterbury, Vernon, and Manchester wasn't impacted by an anticipated $300 million loss, an expected $250 million budget deficit and 155 job cuts "at this point." Senior Vice President Vin Petrini said the health system's Board of Trustees will take a vote on it whether the plan is still a go.
Parties continue to be cautious in litigating challenged transactions. Since January 2021, the US Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice filed lawsuits (or threatened to sue) to block 16 transactions. Of those transactions, 12 were abandoned and six are in various stages of litigation.
