Dr. Dale Okorodudu appears to be a perfectly ordinary guy: He has a mortgage, a wife and three young children whom he carts around in a black Kia Sorento. The Dallas Morning News reports the Carrollton resident is a pulmonary and critical care physician who specializes in treating lung ailments. But on his time off, Okorodudu juggles running a nonprofit, organizing national summits and — most recently — planning a feature-length documentary film.
Dr. Michael Gabriel Galvez, a pediatric hand surgeon who treats mostly low-income patients at a hospital in California’s Central Valley, jokes with families that he went to “30th grade.” But that did not come cheap. The debt he has accrued from 18 years of higher education and medical training, including Stanford Medical School, fellowships and residency, is about $250,000. (And that does not include credit card debt.)
From the outside it might look like an urgent care center, but on the inside, it's fully stocked with equipment you will only find in a hospital. “We have the capability of CT scan, ultrasound, lab, radiology, and all those different services you would traditionally see,” said hospital physician Dr. Jennifer Galbraigth.
The recall came at the request of the FDA, after the agency found the risk of developing a cancer of the immune system, with Allergan’s textured implants is about six times higher than the risk associated with other companies’ textured implants available in the U.S.
The family of a Vineyard woman who died during a surgical procedure last year has filed a lawsuit against a Salt Lake County hospital and multiple doctors, alleging negligence led to her death. On July 10, several members of Donnamay Brockbank’s family — including her parents and children, or those representing them — filed a lawsuit in 3rd District Court against St. Mark’s Hospital, two staff members who assisted in an open-heart operation on Brockbank back on July 11, 2018, and two employers. Brockbank died during the surgery at the age of 62.
