Nationwide physician-staffing company EmCare says a breach exposed personal data for about 31,000 patients, including in some cases their Social Security numbers and clinical information. EmCare Inc. said Saturday that an unauthorized third party gained access to the information through employee email accounts.
In the ever-evolving way doctors treat patients after surgery, teams at Garfield County’s two hospitals have begun to implement Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols to help patients recover faster and with more satisfaction. “We have seen very encouraging results since adopting the ERAS protocol,” said Steven O’Day, general surgeon at Grand River Health in Rifle.
