White male doctors are more likely to be promoted through the ranks of academic medicine than female physicians and those from racial or ethnic minority groups, according to research led by the University of Kansas Medical Center.
In a new study led by Yale School of Medicine's Cardiovascular Data Science Lab, researchers developed an artificial intelligence tool that can identify individuals at high risk of developing heart failure using electrocardiogram images. The new tool enables earlier identification of heart failure, potentially reducing hospitalizations and premature death, the researchers said.

In the phase 1b/2a clinical trial, obese and overweight patients taking 20 milligrams of the amycretin drug saw an average weight reduction of 22% in 36 weeks. Patients taking a placebo experienced a 2% weight gain. Those taking 1.25mg over 20 weeks lost 9.7% of their body weight, with patients on 5mg over 28 weeks seeing a reduction of 16.2%.
