Cost-cutting reaches Children’s Hospital

Growth will look different this year at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. For the first time in recent memory, Children's won't add total employees, remaining flat at about 12,650 workers. Bracing to absorb about $55 million in losses from Ohio Medicaid cuts this year and next year, Children's will respond by shaving $20 million out of its own $1.7 billion budget. By 2015, it will have taken out $50 million.
