Democrats are at odds on financing healthcare

House and Senate Democrats appear to be at odds over how to pay for an overhaul of the nation's healthcare system. Senate negotiators had been eyeing a tax on some employer-provided health benefits but shifted course after the Senate majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, and other top Democrats voiced opposition. The chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, has said President Obama would prefer that money to pay for the legislation come from within the healthcare system.
