Lack of trauma legislation action could hurt Atlanta hospital

The failure of the Geogria Legislature to approve longterm trauma care funding could hurt efforts to save Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, and raises fears that other trauma centers might reduce services or get out of the business. Advocates said the bill would have funded $74 million for hospitals providing care for victims of car accidents and other trauma, and its death will hurt an already-fragile system of care.
