Midwest healthcare startups collect less in first half

Start-up healthcare companies throughout the Midwest have raised nearly $443 million since January 1, down from more than $742 million at this time last year. However, according to the Midwest Health Care Venture Investment Report by Ohio-based BioEnterprise, investments in medical device, biopharmaceutical, and healthcare service companies are far ahead of those reported in 2005 and 2006.
