Health plan for uninsured near passage in Florida

Florida legislators have tentatively agreed to a two-step plan serving individuals as well as small businesses, which may allow uninsured Floridians to buy inexpensive health-coverage packages. The legislation combines Gov. Charlie Crist's proposal, offering stripped-down plans for as little as $150 a month, and House Speaker Marco Rubio's proposal to establish a public-private corporation that would act as a virtual marketplace for health plans.
