Former NFL star Clinton Portis, other football players criminally charged with healthcare claims fraud against league

Ten former NFL players, including retired star running back Clinton Portis, are accused of submitting false claims to a health program run by the league. The players are accused of claiming reimbursements for expensive medical equipment that never was actually purchased. The equipment includes hyperbaric devices, ultrasound equipment used to perform imaging on pregnant women, and electromagnetic therapy devices used on horses.
