How some companies play 'fast and loose' with executive benefits: Former President Trump's charges, explained

The Trump Organization and Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg pleaded not guilty to tax crimes on Thursday. The company failed to report “fringe benefits,” such as rent-free apartments, private school tuition, car leases and cash bonuses, according to the indictment. However, it may be easier for private companies like Trump’s to skirt the rules, tax experts say.
