Alabama may require doctors in emergency rooms 24/7. Could it cause hospitals to close?

The bill, SB80, says that any Alabama hospital with an emergency department, “must have at least one physician on duty and physically present who is primarily responsible for the emergency department at all times that the emergency department is open.” If not, the hospital would lose its license to operate.
