The past two years have been stressful for hospital workers and that includes nurses who have been burning out due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has been followed by a monkeypox outbreak and a rise in polio infections.
To help its personnel, the Long Island Jewish Forest Hills, which is a part of the Northwell Health System, gives its some of its nurses a virtual break from their workday stress via the Oculus Quest 2, a virtual headset that takes its users to the battlefield in a galaxy far, far away to a sandy beach or to other picturesque destinations.
