A JPS Health Network board member has been named vice president of medical affairs for the Texas-based public hospital and its dozens of community clinics, officials said. Gary Floyd, MD, a pediatrician at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, is a former outspoken critic of the taxpayer-supported system. As president of the Tarrant County Medical Society in 2005, Floyd accused JPS of not doing enough for the county's neediest patients, saying that administrators were more concerned with attracting insured patients.
