Three former executives of Spectranetics Corp., a Colorado Springs-based medical-laser maker, are named in a 12-count criminal indictment that accuses them of illegally importing unapproved medical devices, the office of Colorado U.S. Attorney John Walsh announced Monday.
Named in the indictment are George John Schulte, 62, of Wellesley, Mass., a former CEO of Spectranetics (NASDAQ: SPNC); Obinna Adhigije, also known as Larry Adighije, 50, of Encinitas, Calif., a former VP of business development for the company; and Trung Pham, 37, of Colorado Springs, who was a Spectranetics business development manager.
Also named is Hernan Ricaurte, 41, of Ladera Ranch, Calif., whom prosecutors said was a representative of a Florida company contracted by Spectranetics to identify potential sources for the company’s medical products.
