Jerry J. Correa, the first non-Franciscan to head St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii, who steered the organization through some of its roughest years to see his vision of elder care grow to fruition, died unexpectedly Oct. 27. He was 58. He had worked for St. Francis 24 years, the last 10 of those years as president and chief executive officer.
