The July opening date for a 304-bed patient tower at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego has been pushed back four months due to several construction challenges that popped up in recent months. The problems include difficulties in aligning utility systems running through the ceilings of the current building and the one being constructed. It's not the first delay for the building: Sharp officials originally planned to open the tower in July 2007, but that date was pushed back after they decided to fully construct the top floor, half of which was meant for future expansion.
