A key element to good IT strategy is app management. Healthcare organizations may be running hundreds, if not thousands, of apps across the enterprise, and leadership needs to know which are working, which are redundant, and which are wasting money.
Yet a recent survey of College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) member CIOs and IT executives by Clearsense finds that leadership is often lacking a clear and effective application portfolio management strategy. In fact, while more than 75% of the CIOs and other execs surveyed see app rationalization as a high priority, only 20% say their organizations have a good program in place.
