Missouri may make it a felony to jack up temporary health care staffing prices during a statewide or national emergency. It's one of at least 14 states looking to reel in travel nurse costs.
"Our first-time pass rates in 2022 have declined since 2021 and 2020," said Rayna Letourneau, an assistant professor with the University of South Florida and executive director with Florida Center for Nursing. "So, we've seen a decline over the past three years, and that's also consistent with what we've seen nationally."
The Chandler location will be GCU's sixth accelerated nursing program site, joining two others in the Valley, one in Tucson and one each in Utah and Nevada.
Amid workforce issues within healthcare, the state of Minnesota is poised to soon roll out a nursing recruiting initiative, with community-action agencies helping those experiencing poverty enter the field.
