Rite Aid sells pharmacy assets from 1K stores to rivals — including CVS, Walgreens — after second bankruptcy filing

Rite Aid has sold the pharmacy services of more than 1,000 locations across the country to competing chains — including longtime archrivals CVS and Walgreens. In addition to the No. 1 and No. 2 drugstore chains, competitors including Albertsons, Kroger and Giant Eagle snapped up several locations from the struggling drugstore chain, which earlier this month filed for bankruptcy for the second time in two years.
